Scott Spain is a self-described “techie” with extensive
experience in marketing research including sales, Web development,
phone-center management, online surveys, and online focus groups.
Mr. Spain’s career began at Wirthlin Worldwide in 1987,
and later took him to the Discovery Research Group (DRG) and
Venture Data, two of the country's largest, most respected telephone
data collection providers. In a partnership with DRG Scott was
a pioneer in developing and conducting online surveys in 1994.
In 1994, Scott started to specialize in providing Web-based
research solutions to market research professionals. He served
as a vendor to Mr. Mehta’s consulting practice, and found
that both shared a common philosophy of using technology to enhance
marketing research.
Scott serves as Web Chair of the Marketing Research Association's
Southwest Chapter, as well as Past-President of the Salt Lake
City Chapter of the American Marketing Association. In 1999 Scott
was appointed Special Technology Advisor to the Marketing Research
Association’s Technology Council. Scott will be serving
on MRA's national Board of Directors in 2000-01. In addition,
he has long been affiliated with the Advertising Research Foundation,
the Utah Advertising Federation and the American Society for
Quality. Scott is the sole creator of @ResearchInfo.com, the
web's most active online community in the market research industry.
